Driveway gates
We build and install custom swing, slide and cantilever driveway gates in aluminum, steel and wood. We also install and repair operators, keypads, app controls and solar power from many major brands.

Gate fit finder
Driveway slope, opening width and room beside the entrance help determine which gate will work best.
A good fit for a flat opening from 12 to 16 ft with room for two panels to swing inward.

The right system depends on the driveway slope, surface and available room. We confirm the fit during the site visit.
| Compare | Swing gateOne or two panels on hinges, arcing inward like a door. Most common on residential drives. | Track slide gateOne panel rolls sideways on a ground track beside the driveway. | CantileverSlides on rollers mounted to posts. Nothing touches the ground, so gravel and leaves cannot jam it. |

| Best when | The driveway is flat at the gate and there is 12 to 16 ft of room inside for panels to open. | Sloped or tight inside the gate, paved drive, fence line to slide along. | Same as slide, but on gravel, in leaves, or where frost and debris would foul a track. |
| Ground work | Two posts or columns. No concrete in the drive. | Posts plus a level concrete strip with steel V-track set across the opening. | Three posts on one side on a shared footing. Nothing in the drive. |
| Space needed | An arc equal to gate width behind each leaf. | Fence run equal to the opening beside the drive. | Fence run 1.5 times the opening, for the counterbalance tail. |
| Operator | An arm operator on each gate panel. | A chain-drive operator beside the opening. | A chain-drive operator beside the opening. |

Gate materials
Gate panels are built to fit the opening and are available in simple farm, modern and ornamental styles.

Powder-coated aluminum is light, resists rust and works well for most residential entrances. It is available in modern and ornamental styles.

Steel provides a heavier look and works well with stone columns. The finish needs regular inspection so chips can be repaired before rust develops.

Wood boards over a welded aluminum frame provide privacy and a warmer appearance. The wood needs periodic cleaning and sealing.

An existing farm gate can often be automated if the gate moves freely and the posts are solid.
Operators, power and access
We match the operator, power source and access controls to the gate size and the way the entrance is used.
A properly sized operator, battery backup, two remotes, required safety sensors and an inside exit device.
Arm operators open one or two hinged panels. We size the equipment to the panel length, weight and expected daily use.
Chain-drive operators move track and cantilever gates. They mount beside the opening on a concrete pad.
Hard-wired power is best when electricity is close to the entrance. Solar can be practical on long driveways with a clear location for the panel.
Keypads provide separate entry codes for family, guests and service providers. Remotes and compatible vehicle controls can also be programmed.
App controls let you open the gate remotely. A video intercom lets visitors call before you grant access.
Photo eyes and monitored edge sensors stop or reverse the gate when an obstruction is detected. We inspect the safety devices during every repair.

Includes new posts, powder-coated aluminum panels, operators, safety sensors and basic access controls.

Extra trenching, pavement cuts or a solar power kit can increase the installed price.
Video intercoms, vehicle exit loops and additional remotes are priced separately.
Gate posts and hinge supports should be coordinated before stone or brick columns are built.
A deposit is due when the custom gate is ordered. Financing is available on approved credit.

A swing gate needs a clear, level arc. Sloped or tight entrances often work better with a track or cantilever slide gate.
Gate posts carry more weight and movement than standard fence posts. Proper concrete footings help keep the gate aligned.
Long driveways may need trenching or solar power. Surge protection and grounding help protect the operator during storms.
Some properties need fire-department, HOA or shared-access provisions. We identify these requirements before the gate is ordered.

Automating an existing gate typically costs $1,850 to $3,400. A new aluminum swing gate usually runs $4,800 to $8,900, while slide and cantilever systems range from $6,500 to $12,500. Width, material, power and site work affect the final price.
Yes. We build swing, slide and cantilever gates to fit the opening. Available materials include aluminum, steel, wrought iron and wood on a welded frame, with simple, modern, privacy and ornamental styles.
No. We build custom gate panels and work with several major operator and access-control brands. We recommend equipment based on the gate size, weight, power source and daily use.
A swing gate works well on a level entrance with enough room for the panels to open. A slide or cantilever gate is often better for a sloped, tight or wide entrance.
Often, yes. The gate must move freely and the posts must be stable. We inspect the gate first and explain any hinge, post or alignment work needed before adding an operator.
Solar can work well for a residential gate when the entrance is far from electrical service and the panel has a clear location. Gate weight, daily use and shade determine the required system.
The systems we install include battery backup and a manual release. We show you how to use the release safely during the installation handoff.
Options include keypad codes, remotes, app controls, video intercoms and vehicle exit sensors. Emergency-access requirements vary, so we confirm them with the property owner, HOA or local authority before installation.
Requirements depend on the property, electrical work, road setback and community rules. We identify the likely approvals during the site visit and can provide gate drawings and equipment details for review.
Annual service typically includes lubrication, alignment, battery testing, safety-sensor checks and operator adjustments. Track gates also need the ground track kept clear.
Yes. We service many common operator and access-control brands. If an older operator no longer has replacement parts, we can quote a new operator while keeping the existing gate when possible.
