1. Acceptance and scope
By accessing or using garagedoorseneca.com, submitting an estimate request, or otherwise communicating with us through the website, you agree to these Terms of Use and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the website or submit information through it. You may still call us to ask a question.
“We,” “us,” and “our” refer to Garage Door Seneca. “You” refers to the person using the website and, when that person acts for a property owner, company, association, landlord, tenant, or other organization, also to the person or organization on whose behalf they act.
These terms apply to the website and related online communications. Actual garage door, opener, commercial door, or gate work may also be governed by a written estimate, work order, invoice, warranty, financing agreement, manufacturer terms, or other service-specific agreement. If a service-specific agreement conflicts with these website terms, the service-specific agreement controls for that service.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter an agreement to use the website to request service. If you use the website for an organization or another person, you represent that you have authority to bind them.
2. Website information and safety
Website content is provided for general information about our business and common garage door and gate services. It is not a diagnosis, engineering opinion, building-code determination, safety inspection, professional trade advice, or promise that a particular repair or product is suitable for your property. Conditions that appear similar can require different parts, procedures, or safety measures.
Garage door springs, cables, brackets, rollers, openers, and gates can store substantial force or move unexpectedly. Do not loosen, cut, remove, or adjust a spring, cable, bottom bracket, or other tensioned component based on website content. Keep people, pets, and vehicles away from a damaged or unstable door. For an immediate threat to life, fire, or public safety, call 911.
We try to keep the website accurate and current, but information may be incomplete, become outdated, or contain errors. Service descriptions, hours, response times, product availability, ratings, offers, and service areas may change. References to “same-day,” “24/7,” response windows, or similar timing describe a service goal and are subject to technician availability, location, weather, traffic, parts, safety, and other conditions. They are not a guarantee.
3. Estimate requests and account information
The website may allow you to request an estimate or callback by providing contact, property, and job information. A form submission is a request for us to contact you. It is not an acceptance of work, a binding quote, an appointment confirmation, or a guarantee that we can provide the requested service.
You agree to:
- provide accurate, current, and complete information;
- provide only phone numbers, addresses, photographs, and other information you are authorized to use;
- correct material errors promptly;
- avoid submitting payment-card data, passwords, alarm codes, Social Security numbers, medical information, or other unnecessary sensitive data in free-text fields; and
- use estimate requests for genuine inquiries, not testing, spam, solicitation, harassment, or competitive data collection.
We may decline, pause, or cancel a request when information is incomplete or inaccurate; the request is outside our service area or capabilities; conditions appear unsafe; parts or technicians are unavailable; there is a payment or conduct concern; or for another lawful business reason.
4. Services, scheduling, access, and changes
Scheduling
An appointment is confirmed only when we accept and confirm it. Arrival windows are estimates, not exact appointments, unless we expressly agree otherwise. Jobs may take longer than expected or need to be rescheduled because of prior emergency work, weather, traffic, site conditions, parts availability, equipment failure, illness, or events outside reasonable control. We will use reasonable efforts to notify you of a material delay.
Site access and readiness
You must provide safe, lawful, and reasonably clear access to the property, door, opener, electrical panel, controls, and other relevant areas at the scheduled time. An adult authorized to approve the work must be available unless we agree otherwise. You are responsible for securing pets, moving vehicles and personal property, identifying known hazards, and disclosing access restrictions, concealed utilities, asbestos, structural issues, water damage, electrical problems, prior modifications, or other conditions that may affect the work.
Unforeseen conditions and scope changes
An initial description or remote estimate may not reveal all conditions. After inspection or once work begins, we may identify damaged components, code or compatibility issues, hidden deterioration, unsafe prior work, unavailable parts, structural limitations, or other conditions that require a revised method, price, or schedule. We will seek authorization for material additional work where reasonably practicable. If safe completion is not possible within the authorized scope, we may stop work and charge for authorized work, diagnostics, materials, or a service call as stated in the applicable estimate or work order.
Cancellations
Cancellation, rescheduling, trip, diagnostic, restocking, special-order, or return charges may apply only when disclosed in an estimate, work order, or other service-specific terms. Special-order or custom products may not be cancellable or refundable once ordered or fabricated, subject to applicable law. Contact us as soon as possible if plans change.
5. Estimates, pricing, authorization, and payment
Unless expressly labeled a fixed written price after an appropriate inspection, website pricing and estimates given from a customer description, photograph, or phone call are preliminary. Final pricing may depend on door size and weight, spring or track specifications, product selection, labor, site conditions, taxes, permits, disposal, travel, after-hours response, parts availability, and additional work you authorize.
You are responsible for reviewing the scope, price, exclusions, and assumptions in a written estimate before authorizing work. Authorization may be provided by signature, electronic acceptance, text, email, recorded verbal approval where lawful, or another method we accept. Unless a written estimate says otherwise, an estimate may be withdrawn or revised before acceptance and may expire after the period stated on it.
Payment timing, accepted methods, deposits, progress payments, financing, late charges, returned-payment fees, collection costs, and taxes are governed by the applicable estimate, invoice, financing documents, and law. You agree to pay authorized charges when due. If someone else is expected to pay, the person authorizing the work remains responsible unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Financing, if offered, is provided by a separate lender and is subject to its application, approval, rates, fees, and terms. We do not guarantee financing approval.
6. Customer representations and responsibilities
When you request or authorize work, you represent and agree that:
- you own the property or have permission from the owner or authorized manager to request and approve the work;
- the information you provide about the property and equipment is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- you will disclose known hazards, restrictions, prior damage, and relevant manufacturer or warranty requirements;
- you will not ask a technician to perform work that is unsafe, unlawful, outside the authorized scope, or contrary to manufacturer instructions or applicable code;
- you will keep children, pets, occupants, and visitors outside the work area and follow reasonable safety instructions;
- you will inspect completed work when reasonably possible and promptly report a concern; and
- you are responsible for permits, approvals, association requirements, and property-specific restrictions unless the written service agreement assigns that responsibility to us.
You remain responsible for ordinary operation, inspection, and maintenance after service, including reading product instructions, testing safety-reversal features as recommended by the manufacturer, keeping the opening clear, and stopping use if the system shows damage, unusual noise, binding, imbalance, or unsafe movement.
7. Workmanship, products, warranties, and promotions
Any warranty on labor, installed products, or replacement parts will be stated in the applicable estimate, invoice, warranty document, or manufacturer materials. Warranty duration and remedies can vary by service and product. Manufacturer warranties are provided by the manufacturer and may require registration, proof of purchase, prescribed maintenance, or direct claims.
Unless a written warranty says otherwise, warranties do not cover normal wear; misuse; impact, water, fire, pests, power surges, weather, corrosion, settling, structural movement, or other external causes; work or modifications by others; failure to maintain or operate equipment as directed; pre-existing conditions; customer-supplied parts; or components outside the authorized scope. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Coupons, discounts, and promotions are subject to the terms displayed with the offer. Unless stated otherwise, offers apply to new qualifying service during the stated period, have no cash value, cannot be combined, are limited to one per customer or service visit, and may exclude emergency, after-hours, diagnostic, special-order, custom, commercial, or previously authorized work. We may correct obvious errors or end an offer prospectively, subject to applicable law.
8. Calls, texts, electronic records, and notices
When you provide a phone number, submit an estimate request, or contact us by text, you consent to calls and text messages reasonably related to your request, estimate, appointment, technician arrival, service, invoice, warranty, or follow-up. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchasing services.
Reply STOP to opt out of texts and HELP for help, or call (864) 973-0180. Opting out of text messages does not cancel an appointment, unpaid balance, warranty obligation, or service agreement. We may contact you through another lawful channel about those matters. We do not treat an estimate request as consent to unrelated third-party marketing.
You agree that electronic signatures, approvals, estimates, invoices, notices, and records may satisfy a requirement that a communication be in writing, to the extent permitted by law. You are responsible for keeping your contact information current. Website notices are effective when posted; direct electronic notices are effective when sent to the contact information you provided, subject to applicable law.
9. Acceptable use, intellectual property, and external links
You may use the website only for lawful, personal, or internal business purposes. You may not:
- interfere with the website, bypass security, probe for vulnerabilities, introduce malware, or impose an unreasonable load;
- use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or copy website content or personal information without permission;
- impersonate another person, submit false requests, misuse contact forms, or engage in fraud, harassment, or unlawful activity;
- copy, modify, republish, sell, or exploit a substantial portion of the website except as allowed by law or our written permission; or
- use our name, branding, photographs, or content in a way that suggests sponsorship or affiliation without permission.
The website, including its text, design, graphics, logos, photographs, and code, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to access the website for its intended purpose. No other license is granted.
If you send feedback, a review, photograph, or other content, you retain any rights you have in it. You give us permission to use it to respond, estimate, document, and provide the requested service. We will ask before using identifiable customer photos or testimonials in public marketing unless you already made them public or otherwise authorized that use.
Links to manufacturer, map, review, financing, social media, or other third-party services are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, privacy, products, pricing, promises, or terms. A link does not necessarily mean endorsement.
10. Website disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement.We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from harmful components. These website disclaimers do not replace an express written warranty we provide for paid service or an installed product.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our owners, employees, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising from or related to website use, inability to use the website, reliance on general website content, or misuse of the estimate form, even if advised that such damages are possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from the website or these website terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us specifically for access to the website or $100. This limitation does not govern liability arising from paid garage door or gate services where a service-specific agreement or applicable law provides otherwise.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability or consumer rights that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for willful misconduct where such a limitation is prohibited.
11. Disputes, governing law, and general terms
Good-faith resolution
Before filing a legal claim concerning the website, you and Garage Door Seneca agree to make a reasonable, good-faith effort to resolve the issue informally. Contact us at (864) 973-0180 with your name, the relevant facts, and the resolution you seek. This requirement does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or using a small claims process when available.
Governing law and venue
These website terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any applicable service-specific agreement and any law that gives you a different right, legal proceedings concerning these website terms will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Oconee County, South Carolina, and each party consents to that court’s jurisdiction.
General provisions
If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions will remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a business transfer or by operation of law. Headings are for convenience only. “Including” means “including without limitation.” These terms and any incorporated policies are the entire agreement about use of the website, but they do not replace service-specific agreements.
12. Changes, suspension, and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. Revised terms take effect when posted, unless a later date is stated. Changes apply prospectively and do not retroactively alter an accepted written service agreement. By continuing to use the website after revised terms take effect, you agree to the revised terms.
We may change, restrict, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the website at any time. We are not liable for a website change or outage, subject to applicable law. Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive termination, including intellectual-property, disclaimer, liability, dispute, and payment provisions.
