Garage door repair
We repair broken springs, snapped cables, doors off track, and openers throughout Seneca and the surrounding area. Most repairs are quoted at a flat price and finished the same day.

Symptom checker
Pick the closest match to see the likely cause, whether the door is safe to keep using, and what the repair typically costs.
A snapped spring makes a bang like a gunshot and leaves the door far too heavy for the opener. You will usually see a visible gap in the coil above the door. The opener will strain, slip, or lift a few inches and drop back.
Leave the door closed and unplug the opener so nobody hits the button. If your car is inside, call us and we will talk you through the emergency release.
One side rides higher than the other, and you will often find loose cable coiled on the garage floor or wrapped around the drum. It usually follows a spring failure or a worn bottom bracket.
Do not try to level it by hand, because the door can drop. Leave it where it is and keep children and vehicles clear of the opening.
Usually caused by backing into the door, a broken cable, or a roller that finally gave out. The door sits at an angle and binds hard against the track. Forcing it bends sections and track, which turns a repair into a replacement.
Stop operating the opener immediately. If the door is partly open, do not stand or park under it.
The motor runs but the door stays put. On chain and belt units that is a plastic drive gear worn to nothing, or a broken trolley carriage. It is cheap to fix and rarely a reason to buy a whole new opener.
Pull the red emergency release so you can open the door by hand, and check that it still lifts smoothly. If it feels heavy, the spring is the real problem.
Photo eyes are required by federal code and reverse the door if the beam is broken or misaligned. A bumped bracket, a spider web or sun glare will do it. If the eyes are clean, the door is dragging and the opener reads it as an obstruction.
Wipe both lenses and check that the small indicator lights are solid rather than blinking. If that fixes it, you are done and we charge you nothing.
Steel rollers wear flat, bearings dry out, and the hundreds of bolts in a door work loose over years of vibration. Noise is the early warning. Ignore it and the next call is a spring or a bent track.
Nothing you need to do today. Note whether the noise happens on opening, closing or both, because it helps us bring the right parts.
Vehicle impacts and storm damage usually hit the bottom two sections. If the panel is still square we can straighten and reinforce it. If it is creased through, a single section replacement is often possible while the model is still made.
Take a photo of the whole door plus a close-up of the damage and text it to us. We can usually tell you repair or replace before we come out.
If the wall button works and the remotes do not, it is usually batteries or lost programming. If nothing works at all, the receiver board or antenna is the suspect, and on units past 15 years boards get scarce.
Try a fresh battery and re-pair using the learn button on the motor head. Most brands are a two button, ten second process.
Ranges are typical for standard residential doors in Oconee County. Your exact price is confirmed before any work begins.

After-hours emergency dispatch adds a flat $95. We quote it upfront, so it is never a surprise on the invoice.
1 year on labor, 3 to 7 years on springs depending on cycle rating, and the manufacturer warranty on openers.
Truck stock
Standard residential parts are stocked in a dozen sizes, so a broken spring at 9am is a working door by lunch.
How it works
Spring replacement
A torsion spring is rated in cycles, where one cycle is an open and a close. Builder grade springs are 10,000 cycles, which for a family opening the door four times a day is about seven years.
| Spring grade | Rated cycles | Typical life |
|---|---|---|
| Builder standard | 10,000 | 6 to 8 years |
| High cycle, what we install | 25,000 | 15 to 18 years |
| Commercial or heavy use | 50,000 | 25+ years |
Please do not attempt a torsion spring yourself. A wound spring stores hundreds of pounds of force and needs proper winding bars. Screwdrivers slip and the injuries are severe. This is the one job worth calling a pro for.
Repair or replace
We tell people to repair when a repair is the right call. These are the factors we weigh.
A repair made within 90 days credits toward a new door if you decide to replace.

Spring failure, SenecaBoth 10,000 cycle springs replaced with 25,000 cycle springs, cables and drums re-set, and opener limits reprogrammed.
Off track, ClemsonDoor re-railed, two bent hinges and six rollers replaced, bottom section straightened, and the track re-plumbed.
Opener rebuild, WalhallaA stripped drive gear and sprocket kit installed instead of a new opener, which saved the homeowner about $340.
Brands we repair
We repair every major door and opener line, including the ones we did not install.
Maintenance
Most emergency calls we run were avoidable. A 25 point tune-up catches frayed cables, dry bearings, loose hardware and a door that is out of balance, which are the four things that quietly kill springs and openers.
Repair FAQ
Our techs live in Oconee County, so drive times are short. Calls before 2pm are usually handled the same day, with 2 to 4 hours typical for emergencies like a trapped car. If we cannot make it today we will say so on the phone and hold the first slot tomorrow.
It is $59 to come out and diagnose, waived entirely if you approve the repair. If you would rather think about it, you pay the $59 and there is no pressure and no follow-up sales calls.
Please do not. A double door with no spring assist can weigh over 250 pounds, so lifting it by hand risks a serious injury, and running the opener will burn out the motor or snap the trolley. If a vehicle is trapped, call us and we will walk you through pulling the emergency release safely, then prioritise the visit.
They were installed the same day and have taken the same number of cycles. Replacing one leaves an unbalanced door with a partner spring that is typically months from failing, and a second service call costs more than the second spring. We will do just one if you insist, but we will note it on the invoice.
Hardware such as springs, cables, rollers, hinges, drums and bearings is largely universal and we stock it. Steel sections and decorative panels for discontinued models are the hard part. If yours cannot be matched we will tell you before you spend money on the rest.
Normal wear, such as a spring reaching the end of its life, generally is not covered. Sudden damage often is, including a vehicle backing into the door, storm or falling limb damage, or a lightning strike that takes out the opener board. We provide itemised documentation and photos for claims at no charge.
One year on our labor. Springs carry 3 years at standard cycle rating or 7 years on high cycle. Openers and boards carry the manufacturer warranty, which we register for you. All of it prints on the invoice, so nothing is verbal.
Yes, including sectional and rolling steel doors, jackshaft operators, dock equipment and gate operators. Commercial repairs are quoted per job, and we offer scheduled preventive maintenance so a stuck door never closes your bay for a day.
Card, check, cash or tap to pay in the driveway once the work is done and tested. Nothing up front, and no deposit on repair work.
